Today we bring the sad news that John Leckie,
who ran the Hydro for over 40 years, died in the early hours of
this morning: a peaceful end to a battle with Parkinson's
Disease that stretched over twenty years.
The fourth generation of the Leckie family to steward Crieff
Hydro, John built many of the facilities we take for granted today
and was an an inspirational figure, devoted both to the Hydro,
its customers and its staff. He will be sadly missed not
only by his family, colleagues, friends and customers, but by
so many people whose lives he touched with his genuine warmth,
kindness and wisdom.
The funeral takes place on Monday 10th September. The family
will be holding a private service at Perth Crematorium and
following this all are welcome to Crieff Parish Church Thanksgiving
Service at 12 Noon and afterwards at Crieff Hydro. No flowers, but
retiring collection for Parkinsons research.
