It’s our favourite spot for a family day of arts and crafts, and one of our Top 10 Things We Love too. Crieff Ceramics is the ideal spot on a rainy day, for unleashing your artistic flare.
The paint-your-own pottery studio is just three miles south of Crieff on the A822. You don’t need to worry about booking, and parking and entry are free as well. So just head along and create your masterpiece.
You can choose your ‘bisque’ – an unpainted piece of pottery – with everything from dolphins and triceratops to mugs and egg cups. You can be as artistic as you like or simply make some fun family keepsakes.
You’ll get to spend the day making your own bespoke piece. They’ve got underglaze paints which they’ll fire up in the kiln for you to keep that just-painted look (even after a birl in the dishwasher) or you can use the instant acrylic paints if you’re in a rush.
Your little ones can make their first mark on the world with a little foot or palm print, and even your dog can get his paw-print on the clay.
There’s a soft play area and ball-pool for the kids too.
Crieff Ceramics also offers some pottery making classes, so you can start your piece right from the very beginning. They can make casts of your hands and lots of different ideas for gifts, or you can just create something original for your home.
A day out at Crieff Ceramics wouldn’t be complete without a coffee and a piece of their fabulous chocolate cake.
