Update as of Wednesday 22nd October 2020

We are open and ready to welcome you. Our restaurants and cafes will remain open until 10pm for residents, if you are not staying with us, you can still dine with us until 6pm. Alcohol can be consumed in our outside dining areas only – Basecamp, The Terrace and The Hub. Tables can only be booked for a maximum of 6 people from 2 households (children under 12 are excluded from this number).

We will offer refunds or change of date for any accommodation bookings staying between Friday 9th October – Sunday 1st November 2020.

We are following the same guidance and advice that is broadcast nationally by the Government and any changes to terms will be in line with the Government advice and restriction dates.

All of our activities are up and running but we recommend booking in advance as spaces are limited. You may find that not all of our facilities will be open during your stay. This includes some restaurants and bars, soft play and our guest laundry room. However, this will be reviewed as lockdown eases. We’ll look to open fully just as soon as the government says it is OK to do so.

You may have seen in the press that we, like other businesses, are sadly considering job losses as a direct result of the huge Covid-19 related downturn in business. This downturn is expected to last for many months after re-opening but won’t affect your booking before or after you get here. Whilst a few things may be different because of social distancing and other guidelines, we’ll still be offering the same level of service and hospitality that we have for over 150 years.

Not sure what’s open and what’s not for your visit?  Here’s a breakdown of what’s open as of today – will be updated daily so keep an eye out.

Eat

  • Winter Garden – yes, daily from 9am until late
  • Tiffin at the Winter Garden – yes, from 6pm-9pm
  • The Terrace – yes, open from 12pm until 10pm
  • Basecamp at Action Glen – yes, open daily from 9am
  • Meikle – yes, for breakfast only
  • The Hub – yes, it’s in full swing

Play

  • Action Glen – yes, 99% of our activities are running (4×4 tours will be back soon).
  • Riding Centre – yes, Polly and her friends are back.
  • BIG Country – yes, we’re open daily.
  • Cinema – we’ve moved and are showing films in The Melville

Spa and Leisure

Spa – yes, with a slightly reduced offering.
Hair – yes, hair cuts and blow dry’s are back!
Leisure pool and gym – The pool and gym has now reopened.

  • Pre-booking is required 7 days in advance, we ask guests to only book 1 session per day – Book now.
  • Our changing rooms, spa bath, sauna and steam room are still out of action so come dressed for the pool.

Victorian Spa – The pool has now reopened.

  • The Victorian Spa will be an adult only swimming pool
  • Pre-booking is required 7 days in advance, we ask guests to only book 1 session per day – Book now.

Changes to your stay

Coronavirus means we’re changing how we do some things to help stop the virus spread and look out for the health of our guests and our team. Here is a roundup of the main changes you’ll notice during your stay:

  • Room amenities – for both hotel and self-catering, you will no longer find the following in your room: toiletries, hairdryers, soft furnishings such as cushions, extra pillows, blankets, pads, and pens. These are now available on request.
  • Contactless payments – we are now a cash-free resort. Please pay by contactless where you can.
  • Face masks/coverings – these are now mandatory for guests and our team to wear around the resort. If you have forgotten to bring one with you, we have them available for purchase.
  • Breakfast Booking – best to book your slot for breakfast in advance or book your grab and go option if you’re short on time.
  • Social distancing – we have introduced visual reminders and markers to help you keep your distance from guests and our team. We have also installed protective screens/cough guards.
  • Activities – our activities now have to be booked in advance. Please check availability before your stay so you can book the activities you want.
  • Pool & Gym booking – We’re limiting the number of people in the pool & gym at one time, you will need to pre-book a time slot 7 days in advance.
  • Biocidal cleaning – we have developed enhanced cleaning procedures for every nook, cranny, and surface throughout the hotel.

Protecting your family and ours

Help us protect yourself and others by getting the whole family to:

  • Avoid travelling if you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have been advised to self-isolate
  • Wash your hands. If this is not possible hand sanitiser will do
  • Wear a mask or face covering when indoors.
  • Got a habit of touching your face? Best to break this habit if you can
  • Avoid people who are unwell – or avoid others if it’s you that’s poorly

What else are we doing? To give peace of mind, we’re adjusting some of our terms to be just as flexible as you are. In line with government guidelines, any party that consists of more than 1 household, due to stay with us up to 30th November in self-catering lodges or the same hotel bedroom, may change their stay date or request a refund.
