If you could banish one thing to room 101, what would it be?
Birds, not a fan at all!
What’s been your favourite day at Crieff Hydro?
It has to be the surprise proposal for one of my bride & grooms. They had already booked their wedding here at Crieff Hydro but there had never been a formal proposal. The groom got in touch with me to set up a fake wedding meeting to get them both here. But the real purpose of the visit for a red carpet, candle-lit afternoon tea and the ‘official’ proposal! During our meeting, we were discussing small details about the day and going through the motions, slowly making our way round the hotel. The bride had no idea it what was about to happen and I am so happy I managed to keep the surprise the whole way round the hotel! (Find out how it all went here.)
What’s the most romantic request you’ve had from a customer?
A gentleman called to plan a night away a his wife (and all the family) to celebrate their Ruby Wedding Anniversary. He had such an amazing attention to detail and did all he could to spoil her! Of course, we were happy to meet his every request and give his wife and family a celebration to remember!
What’s your biggest life achievement to date?
This would have to be being a mum to my two amazing little boys, Oliver & Jacob.
What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
This would tie in with the above question…
What are the most surprising aspects about your job?
How different every couple and wedding is. There are so many wedding trends out there and everyone manages to put their own twists on these trends. Lightsaber wedding guard of honour, literal CHEESEcakes, sparkler exits and firepits with marshmallows….all that we offer to make your day as unique as you are.
What is your favourite part of a wedding?
When the bride & groom come out of the ceremony – you can see them start to relax and enjoy themselves throughout the day.
To what extent are you involved on the day itself?
It really depends on the couple and how involved they would like me to be. Some weddings I’m fitting the Bride in to her dress and helping her gracefully into the wedding car. Other times, they have asked that my focus be on the guests or sometimes you can tell that the couples have it entirely under control. Every wedding is different and so is every couple.
Describe yourself in three words?
Bubbly, hardworking & caring.
What’s your favourite place in the world?
Anywhere by the sea. It always seems to calm me.
What’s your number one wedding planning tip for couples?
Spreadsheets. I can’t advocate them enough! This was my number one planning tool for my wedding. Make sure you keep a spreadsheet or some form of planning document – keep everything in one place so you don’t have it all floating around in your head. It also means less stress and you’re less likely to have anything being missed out.
Who are your dream couple?
Not a real couple, but I love Ross & Rachel from Friends!
