Richard Leckie. Son of CEO, Stephen. Sixth Generation to work in the family business.
Richard, our Action Glen manager, is also known as Chip (for being a chip off the old block!) As the son of our CEO, Stephen Leckie, Chip is now the 6th generation to work in the family business. He grew up on the estate, so it’s safe to say he knows the place well – the best Landrover, segway and quad-biking routes included! Lucky really, as he’s now the manager of Action Glen! It’s quite likely you’ll bump into him the next time you visit for an adrenaline fix or fun family day out! And if you do, here are a few conversation starters…
What three words best describe you?
Energetic. Boisterous. Humble.
Couch potato or fitness fanatic?
Fitness Fanatic. I love rugby, trials bikes, quads, watersports – anything outdoorsy! Yup, there’s a reason I’m now running Action Glen…
Where would you rather be right now?
Sri-Lanka. It’s my holiday destination of choice for this year!
First thing you’d do if you won a million?
Take all my friends and family away on holiday – a big villa or yaught so we could explore!
What was the last text message you received?
A photo from my brother, Charlie, of a glamping pod for sale. We run Loch Earn Watersports together and are thinking about putting one out there!
What are you proudest of?
Graduating from university after my teachers told me that I shouldn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t!
If you could turn back the clock what would you change?
I would spend more time with the Grandparents that I loved and lost.
What the hardest thing you’ve had to do?
Starting my own business – everything from the technicalities of HMRC to bank accounts and sales pitches.
And most embarrassing?
I feature in one of the music videos for the band Skippinish. Trouble is, I’m skipping in it!
Cats or dogs?
Dogs. (Which is just as well really as basecamp is dog-friendly!) I have two labs, Sanna and Harris and a new dachshund puppy called Rhum!
