FAQs

Can I bring my babies and little ones along?

Absolutely. We’ll even give you a cot in your room, free of charge. Just let us know when you book – and remember to bring some bedding too (in our experience, babies can be picky about these things).

All our restaurants have high chairs. Need a baby-changing room? You’ll find them at the Brasserie, Hub, BIG Country and on the ground floor of the hotel.

Need us to keep something chilled? We can store it in our fridges for you, just leave it with reception (you can store your buggy here too). If you’re in self catering accommodation, an executive or signature suite, you’ll have a fridge of your own.

If you’re staying in a self-catering room you’ll find a baby and toddler friendly stair-gate, highchair and cot.

Tell me more about the free childcare?

You’ll get two free sessions of BIG Country childcare for 2 -12 year olds per day, when you book direct with us. It’s fully registered and offers group activities based on age groups and interests. There’s space for up to 140 kids but it’s so popular that these spaces move fast so you’re best to book in advance (online or by giving us a call).

Can I bring the dog?

Of course! There’s a cleaning supplement for your dog’s stay. Two dogs maximum, per Executive Studio or self-catering unit. And only guide dogs and hearing dogs are allowed in the main hotel. Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and most of our self-catering cottages too. Get a login from Reception when you arrive, and you can start making everyone on Facebook jealous immediately.

Need a faster connection? Ask at Reception for an upgrade voucher.

What’s in the room?

All rooms have:

  • Safe
  • Hairdryer
  • TV
  • Iron and ironing board

Executive and signature rooms also have:

  • Mineral water
  • Toiletries
  • Morning paper
  • DVD player
  • Mini fridge

Self-catering accommodation has:

  • Towels
  • Bed linen
  • Toiletries (and loo roll)
  • Cleaning materials, including bin bags
  • Tea towels and dishwasher tablets

What’s the dress code?

Relaxed and informal, for the most part. Want to get dressed up for the evening? You won’t look out of place in the ever-so-slightly formal Meikle Restaurant and bar.

Where can I park?

You’ll find car parks dotted around the estate – including two huge ones on the left as you arrive at the hotel. Booked a self-catering spot tucked away in our 900 acres? It’ll have its own car parking space. And if you’ve got a Blue Badge, there’s always a space on the left of reception.

Oh, and the boring bit we have to say: cars parked anywhere on the estate are done so at your own risk.

Can I drop off my bags at the front door?

Yes, of course. Our porters are here to help with your luggage on arrival, and can store it for you before departure.

When does your reception close?

It doesn’t. You can call us 24 hours a day on 01764 655 555. 

What time is check-in/check-out?

Hotel

Your room will be ready between 3pm – 5pm on your arrival day and you’re more than welcome to come and enjoy our activities from 10am.

Check out is at 11am on your departure day although you’re welcome to put the bags in the car and continue using the facilities up until 5pm.

Self-catering

Everything above applies to self-catering with the exception of the check in and out time which are shown below
